Our Physicians
Dr. Bjorn Dimberg, M.D. is the medical director of Palm Bay Urgent Care. He is Board Certified in Emergency Medicine by the American Board of Medical Specialties. Dr. Dimberg earned his medical degree at the University of South Florida College of Medicine in Tampa. After graduating from medical school he proceeded to three years of additional training specializing in Emergency Medicine. He completed his Emergency Medicine residency at North Shore University Hospital (New York University) program in Manhasset, New York. During this time he worked in numerous Emergency Departments in and around New York City gaining the experience and knowledge to treat a variety of emergency medical conditions. Upon conclusion of his residency he has served as attending physician at several Trauma Center/Emergency Departments in Florida and continues to provide care at local Emergency Departments. He maintains hospital privileges at Wuesthoff Memorial Hospitals in Melbourne and Rockledge. Dr. Dimberg is currently a member of the American Medical Association, Florida Medical Association ,American Academy of Ambulatory Care, Florida College of Emergency Physicians & The American College of Emergency Physicians.
Dr. Lawrence Smith, D.O. is board certified in emergency medicine by the American Board of Osteopathic Emergency Physicians and an active member of the American College of Emergency Physicians since completing his emergency medicine residency in 1999. Dr. Smith received an ARMY scholarship through the Health Professions Scholarship Program during medical school at the University of Health Sciences. After graduating, Dr. Smith completed a one year transitional internship at Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii. He then served as general medical officer in Korea, Ft Eustis, VA and Cape Haitian. Dr. Smith was awarded an Army Commendation Medal and subsequently an honorable discharge. Dr. Smith left the Army to pursue his career in medicine including an emergency medicine residency for three years at Oklahoma State University. His training was primarily in internal medicine, pediatrics, gynecology and emergency medicine. He aquired his wound care and trauma procedural skills at Ben Taub Trauma Center in Houston, Texas.
